Mary is our perfect role model to strive for holiness as we journey on a relationship with her Son, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

Benedictines of Mary, Old Catholic Marianists

This is why we venerate our Blessed Virgin Mary...NOT because we have too, but because we WANT too, as did Jesus, her Son. For 9 months Mary was the Tabernacle, the New Ark of the Covenant that held Jesus, the Word until He entered the world in the fullness of truth/time.

United with Our Most Holy Mary Theotokos at the foot of the Cross, the Benedictines of Mary, Old Catholic Marianists seek above all else, a life of union with God in prayer as guided by the Rule of St. Benedict.

Totally consecrated to Jesus through Mary, we remain first and foremost Servants of Jesus the Good Shepherd, dedicated to promoting devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, under her special Orthodox Church title, the Theotokos.

In so doing, we intend to love and serve God through a relationship with Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary, adapting to our lives the Benedictine principles to which we base our common life.

Saint Benedict provides a Rule for monks to give monastic life structure. Benedictine monasticism simply complements a monk’s own ambition: his or her goal of glorifying God in all things.

As modern-age monks, like those monks before us, we embrace Benedict’s Rule as our guide to monastic life. Please pray that God who has begun His work in us may bring it to fulfillment.

Prayer in Honor of Saint Benedict

Dear God, we praise and thank You for Who You are: The Creator and Master of the Universe, and our Father who loves us and has sent Your Son Jesus to save us from our sins.

Dear Father, You provided your holy monk, Benedict, as a leader and master in the spiritual life for a countless number of followers. Filled as he was with the spirit of all the just, You flooded him with the splendor of Your light. In the intense radiance of this light his mind was freed of hindrance and he was able to discern how incomplete all things are here below. Because of this the entire monastic company in every part of the world sings out its joy, and the Virtues on high, with all the angels, continuously praise Your glory in song.

Stir up in your Church, O Lord, the spirit that animated our Father Benedict. Fill us again with Your Holy Spirit, in order that we may learn to love what he loved and practice what he taught. As You filled Saint Benedict with the spirit of all the righteous, grant us, your servants, who celebrate his life and all the good You have accomplished through him, his followers, and his holy Rule, to be filled with his spirit, that we may faithfully accomplish Your complete Will. We ask all this through Jesus Christ Our Lord, Who with You lives and reigns, one God, world without end. Amen.

Poem to Mary

Gentle woman, quiet light
Morning star, so strong and bright,
gentle Mother, peaceful dove,
teach us wisdom teach us love.

You were chosen by the Father
You were chosen for the Son.
You were chosen from all women
and for women, shining one.

Gentle woman, quiet light
Morning star, so strong and bright,
gentle Mother, peaceful dove,
teach us wisdom teach us love.

Blessed are you among women,
blest in turn, all women, too.
Blessed they with peaceful spirits.
Blessed they with gentle hearts.

Gentle woman, quiet light
Morning star, so strong and bright,
gentle Mother, peaceful dove,
teach us wisdom teach us love.
